Middle Year Programme

Middle Year Programme

11 – 16 years 6th to 12th std

The program is for developing vital educational skills to include recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving, initiative, team work and investigative skills. The resultant is that it provides a strong foundation of clear understanding necessary for higher level classes. It provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers. It provides a broad, traditional foundation of knowledge, while the pedagogical devices used to impart such knowledge will increase the student`s awareness of the relationships between subjects. Students are encouraged to question and evaluate information critically, to seek out and explore the links between subjects, and to develop an awareness of their place in the world. This would prepare students to outperform in their board exams and other competitive examinations.

The core focus of VIS is learning and teaching in a caring, safe and welcoming environment where students are challenged to learn and display their ability. The school believes in encouraging children to enquire, to do research work and question themselves How? Why? and When?.
